THE EXODUS 24 OMEN: TWILIGHT’S LAST GLEAMING

Francis Scott Key originally drafted the words of America’s national anthem. From the water, he observed the British attack and bombard Ft. McHenry in Maryland in September 1814. He was struck by the resiliency of this banner and those who were fighting to defend it. More than 100 years later, this work of poetic writing had been set to music and the combination was officially adopted as the National Anthem:

“Oh say can you see, by the dawn’s early light . . . ‘’

In the very first line of the anthem above, one can detect the wonderous miracle stirring in his mind as the first gleaming of dawn seeped over the eastern sky to find this nation’s flag still flying with a statement of endurance and tenacity in the Maryland sky. It would be less than two generations later after a nation of farmers and visionaries defeated the British to earn our independence, they again found themselves in a conflict with the same enemy of the mother empire:

“What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming . . . ‘’

Even in these most darkest of hours and moments, one can glean the pride in a young and new nation presented in the banner which represented its cause for freedom and liberty. Watching the banner wave high was reason for celebration, as the outcome of the War of 1812 was still very uncertain at this time.

“Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight . . .’’

The author here couldn’t help but accurately describe the sight as “broad and bright.” These words have the distinct aura of presenting the strength of our nation and the principles upon which it was founded. The word bright seems to accurately reflect the hope of a new nation built upon principles and an idea of freedom the world had never seen before. It is a hope that one would pine to see in reference to the world’s beacon of liberty and freedom. These righteous ideals are what our nation has represented to the world since its inception. While most other nations now struggle to find this type of liberty even today, the USA has always been the reminder that the thirst for freedom and well being founded on righteous God-given principles is most definitely possible. However, we are reminded through the divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit in biblical writ that such liberty based on the rule of righteous law can only be attained and maintained when God is present in their midst …

“… where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” (2 Corinthians 3:17).

“O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming. . . ‘’

In military terms, a rampart is a defensive wall. Looking on from a distance across the sea from where he observed, Key in his astonishment could still clearly see the American banner waving high above this defensive wall. In fact, the author described the manner in which the banner waved as gallantly. By definition, gallant means in a “brave or heroic manner.’’ The simple essence of vocabulary, Key described the still waving American flag as bearing human-like characteristics. The flag was still waving amidst the carnage, death and destruction with a still and confident strength as though brave, strong and undeterred at the odds.

“And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air . . . ‘’

In this line, we see another of his written passages reminding those of us who would come generations later of the battle that was relentlessly storming above and below. In the thick and gloomy darkness, the light that was created by the cascading bombing and canon fire were enough for those at sea to continue a focus on the banner that represented freedom as though the destiny of a righteous cause was at stake … and it was. But even further than that, the destiny of the right and ideal human condition was at stake … and yes, it was. In getting a guage of the feel and importance of the moment amidst the utter chaos and mayhem, the American flag continued to wave as a reminder to each involved the priceless value of what was being defended.

“Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there . . . ‘’ 

Here, Francis Key reminded any and all that the banner of freedom’s flag was still flying high in defiance and hope. Despite the absolute bloodshed and near impossible odds against an American victory in this war against the empire on which the sun never set, this banner, our banner, the American banner, was still above reproach:

“Oh say does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave, o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?’’

To this very day, the banner of the American flag remains special and unique to this nation. No other in world history represents what it has represented … even with its flaws. Some curse the flag, yet still choose to rest safely under her protection. Many of the same regularly demean our nation yet still choose to reap the benefits of living here. For good and demonstrable reason, I have no doubt these United States were created through divine intervention. As expounded in previous articles, God had and continues to have a mission for our land. Largely, that mission has been accomplished throughout its existence, and will continue to fulfill its mission up until God’s last appointed day of its purpose. As previously expounded upon, this mission and purpose of America is tied to the prophecy of the Vineyard found in Matthew 21. TWILIGHT’S LAST GLEAMING: EXODUS OF THE RIGHTEOUS AND JUDGMENT OF THE LOST

It is from this launching point that we will now acknowledge and make clear that, according to God’s purpose and assignment in prophecy, when God is done with America, it will necessarily mean that time is up for the entire world, not just America. Accordingly, it will mean judgment for the world as presented in Biblical prophetic text such as the book of Revelation. From the backdrop of this fact, there is no doubt America is now being quite deliberately destroyed from within. Most who are less informed than others will blame this on party politics – the left vs. right theater we are fed a steady diet of when tuning in to mainstream news sources. But many have demonstrated through hard research and insider knowledge that all is not as it appears to be. There is now a wide acknowledgment among more people than ever before that there is indeed a secret cabal of globalist individuals and the organizational entities they control who are working feverishly behind the scenes to destroy America and what she has been and represented throughout its existence. In fact, it has been working beneath the surface and behind the scenes without wide detection for many decades – working to undermine and eventually destroy for good all that has been good about this nation.

Without going into the details behind this matter, I think we can all agree that there is a New World Order coming for humanity – an order that will rise on the ashes of the destruction of the old – the western world order with America its long time captain at the helm. The new will be a dictatorial, soul damning system that the Bible informs us will be headed by the Antichrist and his tyrannical mark in which you will not be able to buy or sell unless you bow down to it (Revelation 13).

In previous articles and other watchmen, it has been brought to the forefront that there are some rather telling signs taking place in the heavens that point to the darkening days in which we live which shall lead to the fulfillment of the end times judgments seen in the book of Revelation and throughout all of prophetic biblical scripture. As we have already covered those recently, it would, at the same time, be helpful in reviewing just a few of the highlights of these recent signs as it pertains to the upcoming and much talked about Great American eclipse. Then, we shall dive into yet another new and seemingly undetected prophetic observation concerning this eclipse – undetected until now. Believers everywhere are discovering new prophetic anomalies about this eclipse quite frequently. Here, I shall attempt to bring to the light of day yet another one. So, lets begin.

In what could only be described as an orchestration of divine Providence, the upcoming second Great American eclipse occurring on April 8, 2024 in addition to the first eclipse that occurred on August 21, 2017, which will finish the “X” over America after intersecting in a town called Little Egypt in the state of Illinois will be one for the record books.

Labeling it an act of divine Providence is quite fitting since these two eclipses were separated by an annular eclipse in the middle on October 23, 2023 that also displayed some rather peculiar prophetic messaging as did the first and upcoming April 8 eclipse. In particular, it quite observably displayed a dramatic Rapture theme (see here). Many of these continuously discovered prophetic anomalies have already been examined and recorded by many watchmen – including yours truly here and here. Looking at it from a natural perspective as a visual spectacle, it promises to be a spectacular visual show. Many are making plans to travel to the locations of direct totality.

However, when examining the prophetic signs and implications that have accompanied these last two eclipses in conjunction with the upcoming third on April 8 as previously discussed, we will discover what appears to be yet another prophetic anomaly (or shall we call it another fingerprint of God’s handiwork and design on not only the biblical writ, but on His orchestration of events in history past, present and future).

Without further ado, lets take a look at a rather simple, but yet profound concept of the pattern of numbers. God is all about numbers and patterns when it comes to displaying a deeper level of prophetic truth and future fulfillment. This concept has been abundantly demonstrated time and time again by many – including here on this site. It has been abundantly observed that these series of three eclipses, when combined together, carry a message of warning for a majority of the earth’s inhabitants – while at the same time, having the effect of displaying a theme of a joyous event for a certain other group of earth’s inhabitants who are in the minority. More specifically, it has been observed that these eclipses carry a distinct Egypt/Exodus theme as presented in the story of the Exodus of the ancient Israelites from slavery in the ancient empire of Egypt from the Biblical text. It is with this thought planted firmly in your thinking that we should now examine chapter 24 of the book of Exodus in keeping with the idea of God’s orchestration of the biblical writ as it pertains to signs taking place not only on the global geopolitical landscape, but the signs that are appearing in the heavens to indicate events forthcoming as written in the Bible.

Why examine chapter 24 of the book of Exodus? Again, we go back to prophetic patterns and prophetic number patterns. The eclipse is taking place in the year of 2024. It only makes sense to look at Exodus 24 given the Exodus/Egypt/Rapture pattern displayed by the Eclipses and their intersecting in Little Egypt, Illinois.

God knows the end from the beginning and that repeating patterns and numbers are a significant part of Bible prophecy – lying beneath the surface waiting to be gleaned out like a gold nugget that would be of a great and defining significance to us living today. As mentioned often, we see from biblical scripture that history past will play out in the prophetic future in pattern – and numbers are also a part of that repeating pattern …

“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.  Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us”(Ecclesiastes 1:9-10).

“That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past” (Ecclesiastes 3:15).

As has already been covered in the above linked articles, and by numerous other watchmen, since the theme of Egypt and the Exodus is associated with this eclipse, and since we know that America itself is connected to the theme of the ancient Egyptian empire (as expounded upon in the third installment of the AMERICA THE VINEYARD series here), this naturally should prompt us to want to take a close look at Exodus chapter 24 since the last remaining eclipse of the triad is to occur in 2024. Is there a pattern there that we can observe wherein God may be showing us a clue as to the timing or season of the Rapture? I believe that when the proper studying and observing is done, I believe that the answer is an emphatic yes. By all logical deduction and conclusion, we would have no choice but to state, albeit with a certain degree of caution without being dogmatic of specific times and dates of fulfillment, that there is a hidden clue, lying beneath the surface waiting to be brought to the light of day – a clue that would speak to the current day and hour in which we live.

THE EXODUS 24 RED, WHITE AND BLUE RAPTURE CODE

Building on the aforementioned repeating prophecy pattern of the Ecclesiastes 3:15 and 1:9-10 passage, most of us Americans, and perhaps people from other areas of the world are familiar with the patriotic American phrase “the good old Red, white and blue” when speaking of the colors of the American flag representing America.

It was, and still is among the older generations of Americans a phrase that is uttered in appreciation, gratefulness and patriotism for the many blessings that the Almighty has bestowed upon us – blessings that most other nations had not experienced. It became the world’s preeminent nation. Few would argue that it has been the most blessed, powerful and influential nation of any in recorded history – extending beyond just material wealth. With this thought in mind, along with the repeating patterns of prophecy concept in your thinking, we will note that all three colors of the American flag are found in the story of Moses ascension back to God in chapter 24 (which began in chapter 19).

In keeping with the idea that the last solar eclipse of the triad to occur in the year 2024 – completing the Egypt/Exodus/Rapture theme, we find in Exodus chapter 24 the second highlight of Moses’ ascension to God after God had already “descended” to meet Moses in chapter 19. In that chapter, we are told that as the Lord “descended” down to the top of Mount Sinai, Moses “ascended” up to meet with God. This story is arguably one of the most prominent of the Old Testament prototypes for the future Rapture of the Church. The Apostle Paul, under the divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit, informs us that, at the Rapture, the Lord will “descend” from Heaven with a shout and the believers in the body of Christ will “ascend” to meet the Lord in the air – just like Moses “ascended,” or was “caught up” after the Lord had already “descended” from Heaven …

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

It is here where we can observe the same exact Rapture language being employed not only in Paul’s description of the Rapture, but also in the story of Moses ascension to God at Mount Sinai.

In the second part of this Rapture prototype story seen in chapter 24, and begun in chapter 19, we see God calling Moses and 70 of the elders of Israel, including Aaron, Nadab and Abihu to the foot of the mountain. But God called Moses to come near to him after 7 days by ascending the mountain wherein He would receive the Ten Commandments. But first, Moses would first build an altar under the hill, along with twelve pillars representing the twelve tribes of Israel, young men of the Israelites to offer burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen to the Lord …

“And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off. And Moses alone shall come near the Lord: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him. And Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the Lord hath said will we do. And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel. And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the Lord” (Exodus 24:1-5).

It is in Moses and the elders carrying out of these instructions by the command of God that we find the peculiar characteristics and details contained in the story that have the effect of drawing our attention to today – specifically the United States of America in the month of April 8, year 2024 – the day of the American eclipse triad conclusion. Again, it is the idea of Exodus 24 and the Exodus/Egypt theme of the uniquely American eclipses over Little Egypt, Illinois in the year 2024.

First, we find the theme of blood in Moses and the elders sacrificing of the oxen to the Lord before Moses “ascends” to the top of the mountain. The feature of this part of the story in Exodus 24 that should be paid some special attention to is the fact that, as we all are aware, blood is the color red as highlighted in the blood verses below wherein the animal sacrifice of Moses and the 70 elders is presented …

And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient. And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words (verses 6-8).

As we are all aware, animal sacrifices under the first covenant were a God ordained picture of the ultimate blood sacrifice that Jesus Christ would make upon the cross of Calvary to satisfy the justice of God whereby the sins past, present and future of every man and woman would be forgiven provided they personally and willingly receive it. This new sacrifice of Christ would become the “new” covenant, or what we now call the “New Testament” covenant. Notably, the American flag contains the color red.

Again, the eclipse triad is displaying a distinctly exodus/Egypt/Rapture theme. The events of animal sacrifice contained in this chapter are occurring after they have been released from the bondage of Egypt and just before their entrance into the Promised Land after spending 40 years wandering in the desert wilderness. As the animal sacrifice event in this chapter progresses, we find Moses and the 70 elders suddenly getting a birds eye view of God. We are told that there was a sapphire stone beneath His (God’s) feet. It is here where it is again important to take note of a certain detail in this story – and that is of the second feature of this series of three features – and that feature is that the main color of sapphire is blue …

Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness. And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink” (verses 9-11).

Again, it is noteworthy to point out that the second color in the American flag is the color blue.

In the next occurrence in this sequence of events, we see God calling Moses “up” to the mountain – this occurrence being after he was initially called up to the mountain and sent back down to the Israelites at the foot of the mountain in chapter 19. As he went up onto the mountain again, there he entered into God’s presence wherein we are told that a cloud covered God’s presence …

“And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them. And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God. And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them. And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount. And the glory of the Lord abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud. And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel. And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights” (verses 12-18).

Here is where we should note the theme of clouds coming into play in this dramatic event of Moses meeting God face to face. As we also are well aware, the color of clouds take on a white color. The color white is the third color displayed on the American flag.

Thus, we now observe all three colors of red, white and blue in the sacrificial event at the foot of Mount Sinai when God made His most dramatic appearance in the sight of man. Is God giving us a clue that His appearance to the saved body of Christ a.k.a. the Church that He shall call home to Heaven in the event of the Rapture is to occur in 2024? We might logically conclude that this is the case given that there seems to be a demonstrable link between the Rapture theme of the eclipses over America and this nation’s flag colors displayed in this most dramatic appearance of God in the Old Testament in the very same chapter number (24) as the conclusion year of the American eclipse triad in 2024.

SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION

To put it bluntly and succinctly, it is twilight’s last gleaming – not just for America, but for the entire world. This eclipse triad is a distinctly American one and is labeled as such for good reason – while at the same time, bearing dramatic consequences to the entire world given that the world’s destiny is tied to the completion of America’s God ordained and assigned spiritual purpose as seen in its connection to the Vineyard prophecy in Matthew 21. The American eclipse and America itself should be seen as a sort of time clock or time piece full of prophetic indicators that let us know how near we are to the return of Christ and the fulfillment of all that the Bible has forewarned us about – along with the other time piece called Israel that most acknowledge is the other crucial piece of the puzzle.

Given that the upcoming April 8, 2024 American eclipse triad conclusion also points directly to Jesus in the distinct characteristic of its formation of the aleph/tav pattern over America, it should be pointed out to the novice in spiritual matters that Jesus referred to Himself as the Aleph and Tav when He said the following words to the Apostle John after His resurrection and ascension into Heaven …

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty” (Revelation 1:8).

The Aleph and Tav are the Hebrew equivalents of the Greek Alpha and Omega seen above.

It is the red, white and blue color scheme contained in the Exodus 24 Rapture typology that should give us pause to consider that the 2024 American eclipse, the eclipse of the nation of the red, white and blue, the eclipse that concludes the eclipse triad which paints us a marvelous Rapture picture – may be the final sign that shows us we may be at journey’s end much like the ancient Israelites under Moses. At the end of their journey through the wilderness, they saw God with their own two eyes after being delivered from Egypt. It is thus reasonable to suggest that the saved and living body of Christ today is not long for this world – and that our departure from planet earth is near at hand as we too shall see God face to face. As for those left here on earth in the aftermath, judgment awaits.

FRANCIS SCOTT KEY BRIDGE COLLAPSES INTO BALTIMORE RIVER AFTER VESSEL HITS SUPPORT COLUMN – STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED

In what can only be described as an omen of dire consequence for America and the world, the Francis Scott Key bridge in Baltimore, Maryland has collapsed into the Patapsco River when a cargo ship collided with the bridge.

Remembering back to the beginning of this article, I had made some commentary on Francis Scott Key and his creation of America’s national anthem. As we examine the details of this story, I think you may agree that this event can only be considered a dire omen and sign that the Lord is getting ready to rapture home the body of Christ while judgment will ensue upon the earth. Lets now take a look at some of those details and discover why this can only be considered an ominous sign from the Almighty.

It was just “7” days ago (God’s perfect number as presented throughout the biblical text) when I first published this article on the Exodus 24 omen. In the article, I started off with a commentary about Francis Scott Key and the poem that turned into America’s national anthem that he wrote. What are the odds of a “coincidence” here?

In reading through some of the details of this breaking story, if you have your spiritual ears attuned, you will observe a conspicuous detail that would seem to give us a connection to 1948 – the year Israel was reestablished as a nation in fulfillment of end times prophecy. As most biblical expositors of the end times already know, it was the reestablishment of the nation of Israel in 1948 that was a required event in order to establish that the world had entered the end times. And of course, the upcoming 2nd American eclipse is in the “4th” month (April) of this year on day “8” (48).

To briefly break down this 1948 Baltimore bridge/reestablishment of Israel in 1948 connection, we will start with the observation of U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer First Class Matthew West pointing out that the 948-foot Singapore-flagged cargo ship Dali struck the bridge at 1:28 a.m. First, notice the length of the ship – 948 feet … as in 1948. So where would the number 1 be in this story if it is an omen of judgment for the world? Answer: the ship struck the bridge at 1:28 a.m. There’s your 1948 in full).

Additionally, it is being reported that “4” response boats were deployed to aid in the disaster. The Hebrew letter that represents a door is the dalet – which has the numerical value of the number 4 – as in Revelation 4:1 and its typology of the Rapture as the Apostle John is caught up into Heaven through an open door and shown visions of the future during the Tribulation period after the Church Age has ended.

If it is one idea that should stick into the reader’s mind concerning these observations, it is that God knows the end from the beginning and is the great orchestrator of history past, present and future. He declares the end from the beginning …

“Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure” (Isaiah 46:9-10).

We certainly see examples of this in a myriad of ways as expounded upon here in this article from the Exodus 24 event. God had already seen America in the future and the colors that would represent her from way back then. He knew of the 2024 eclipse he would send in the conclusion of an eclipse triad and tucked away the hints of those colors in the momentous historical event of Exodus 24 – knowing that it would mean something dramatic today that He wanted us to take notice of … in the end times before His return.

While God commands us to watch for the signs of His return, it is folly to declare a specific date of the Rapture and the date of fulfillment of certain prophetic events as we simply do not have that information displayed to us in the biblical writ. But as Jesus commanded us, He expects us to observe the signs of its approach and to know the general season of His return by way of those signs. It would seem that in this most noteworthy eclipse triad event – along with other prophetic fulfillments that have occurred in decades past last century and into the current one – we have been given a dramatic heads up. He is coming – and soon. He is giving us signs in abundance that this is indeed the case. Is He coming for everyone? THE RAPTURE AND YOUR ESCAPE FROM THE COMING JUDGMENT

The demonstrably divinely inspired text that we call the Bible promises a coming horrendous seven-year Tribulation period of judgment upon Earth for all of mankind, no matter what your religion, belief or creed is, and even to those who don’t believe anything spiritual at all.  We can now clearly see the signs of this approaching nightmare.  However, as we’ve already seen, this same divinely inspired text that we call the Bible promises a dramatic escape from off the face of the earth before this horrendous time of judgment only to a certain category of people.  

Put simply, an event is coming that will be so stupendous that it strains the mind to contemplate such an event happening.  It is an event that will see millions upon millions of people across the globe suddenly disappear without warning.  The millions of disappeared will have literally ascended into Heaven itself after instantaneously receiving a new glorified body fit for Heaven.  A body that will be able to withstand the atmosphere and glory of Heaven.  This event is known as the “Rapture.”  But the promise of escape is only to those who are “born again” in Christ.  This is why it is crucial to understand what Christ meant when he declared in no uncertain terms that only those who are “born again” in him will enter the Kingdom of God.  For the explanation of this, keep reading below.

Agreeing – A belief and agreeing with God in all that he says in his word, the Bible, about the fact that you are separated from God, as every man and woman on the face of the earth are before accepting his salvation.  The Bible reveals that all are separated from him in a spiritual state of death, or said another way that the Bible reveals it, in a state of sin, that will result in damnation in the afterlife.  Agreeing with God in your heart that you are in need of his salvation.  The Bible reveals that God looks upon the heart of a man or woman, and thus, responds accordingly to the person who comes to him for salvation in recognition of his inability to save himself.  The Bible makes these facts very clear – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).  “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).  The Bible describes these three kinds of death:

• physical death (the state experienced when life leaves our bodies).
• spiritual death (spiritual separation from God caused by our state of spiritual death inherited from the first man Adam – the state of sin that results in our daily outward acts of sin, whether deliberate or not, whether omissive or not; and finally …
• the second death (the fixed state entered into by the individual who dies physically while he or she is dead spiritually). This state is entered into after the death of the body which results in punishment in the afterlife until the event of the Great White Throne Judgment occurs wherein the damned are resurrected from Hades, or Hell, and are judged according to their works and finally destroyed and cease to exist after being cast into the Lake of Fire. Revelation 14 refers to this tragic end of the unsaved as the “Second Death” (verse 14). It is this state of suffering entered into after physical death and then final destruction at the Great White Throne Judgment in particular which is the horrible result of receiving the wages of sin (unforgiven due to unbelief and rejection of Christ). The Lord Jesus Christ frequently described such a death as being irrevocable in a destiny which he called Hell.  He described Hell as a literal place of judgment (Matthew 13:42); a place of everlasting fire (Matthew 18:8); a place of torment (Luke 16:24,28); a place of weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 13:50); a place of remorse (Mark 9:44-48); of bitter memory (Luke 16:25), and a place originally prepared for the Devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41).  In fact, Jesus more often warned about Hell than he spoke about Heaven.

It is not God’s will or desire that any person should be consigned to perish in Hell (2 Peter 3:9), but rather that all should come to repentance of unbelief toward him and believe on him for the salvation of the individual’s soul.  But God’s justice requires that the “soul who sins” (remains in it’s state of death or state of sin) is the one who will die a second time after a long period of torment (Ezekiel 18:4).  So, agree with God, admitting that you are unable to save yourself and in a state of sin under God’s just condemnation for that sin and that you are in need of his salvation.

2. Believing – Then, believe that God does not want you to perish eternally in the torment of Hell because of your sin.  Believe that God loves you so much that he provided a way whereby he could still be a just, holy and righteous God, and yet pardon you.  Believe that God did not just overlook sin, but that he sent his only begotten son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to provide salvation by personally paying the penalty for sin.  Believe that Jesus Christ, whose life, death, burial and resurrection is the best-attested fact of antiquity, did come to earth to live, die, rise again and ascend to Heaven in order to provide justification and salvation for all who trust him.  Believe that he, and he alone, can save you because he has fully satisfied the just demands of God.  Believe that you can’t become righteous in God’s sight by your own effort.  Believe that he wants to save you and that he will save you.  The Bible provides a solid basis for such belief …

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17). 

“But God demonstrates his love toward us in this:  while we were yet sinners,  Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). 

God presented him (Jesus Christ) as a sacrifice of atonement through faith in his blood.  He did this to demonstrate his justice because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished – he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies the man or woman who has faith in Jesus (Romans 3:25-26). 

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures … ” (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). 

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). 

“Jesus answered, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).  “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out [drive away]” (John 6:37).

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20).

3. Calling – It is not enough to agree with God, admit your need, and believe that Christ can and will save you.  You must act upon those facts. God’s requirement is that you repent of your unbelief toward him and actively call upon him for the salvation of your soul based on the fact that you cannot save yourself. It is unbelief in particular that damns the soul to its horrible fate …

“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:18).

You must be willing to completely turn from your own efforts to save yourself or from any other hope.  You must come to Christ, calling upon him for salvation and counting on the fact that he will do what he has promised.  This means simply taking the gift of pardon and eternal life which he offers.  Merely believing about Jesus Christ without coming to him makes as much sense and is as effective as believing that a medication can successfully treat a fatal disease, but failing to take it.  Yet again, the Bible emphatically and authoritatively provides the basis for such statements.

The word translated “believe” here means to “rest one’s entire weight and trust on the object or person in which the belief is placed.”  It requires action in keeping with the intellectual assent of that belief.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).

” … but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

The logical question you may be asking at this point is:  “how do I come to Christ and call upon him?”  The answer is that “calling upon the Lord” is just another term for praying, or talking to God.  To talk to God is not a complicated process, dependent upon some special rituals.  God has invited people to approach him through his Son in simple, straightforward terms.  In fact, Jesus approved of the dishonest, despised tax collector who simply prayed, “God be merciful to me, a sinner.”  While the exact words of your prayer to God are not of vital importance (since God sees and knows the attitude of your heart), the following is the kind of prayer that you could pray in calling upon God for salvation …

“Dear Lord Jesus:  I realize that I need you.  I admit that I have sinned and that I deserve your just, eternal punishment for that sin.  But I am sorry for my sin and I am turning to you and asking for forgiveness.  I believe that you died and rose again to pay sin’s penalty on my behalf.  I come to you and open my heart to you.  I ask you to come into my life, forgive me for all of my sin and make me your child.  I invite you to take control of my life and to cause me to be the kind of person you would have me to be.  I thank you for doing this because you have promised that whosoever calls upon you, as I am doing now, shall be saved.  I pray this in the name of your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen.”

If this prayer expresses the desire of your heart, I urge you to sincerely and genuinely express it to God as your prayer.  The Bible makes clear that when we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ in our heart, God forgives our sins and counts us righteous, and that when we openly confess with our mouth what we have done in our heart,  God gives us assurance of that salvation (Romans 10:9-10).

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.  Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again” (John 3:3-7).
