“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matthew 24:21).
There is an important and ongoing discussion in prophetic circles today. It is preoccupied with the length of the period known as the “great tribulation.” Does the Tribulation have a seven year duration, or does it only last three-and-a-half years? It is often argued that the numerous references to “a time, times and a half,” “a thousand, two hundred and sixty days,” forty two months,” will only support a three-and-half year Tribulation. These, they say, constitute proof that this period is only half of the traditionally-mentioned seven years.
