According to World Book Encyclopedia, wars are almost always fought over economic issues.  Whatever the reasons given for war, the underlying cause is almost always money.  “The causes of war may be selfish, base or even wicked, but the reasons stated are usually lofty and noble” (World Book, Vol. 21, p.22).  Politicians may offer great speeches that engender patriotism for family and country, but the public will seldom be told the real causes for war. 

THE RISE OF WORLD GOVERNMENT 2

In the previous installment on Revelation 13, the dreadful “beast out of the sea” was discussed. It is a vast subject. The discussion thus far has only covered the first two verses of the chapter, along with several other biblical references. The focus has been to paint the beast as the ultimate fulfillment of the “times of the gentiles” that began with Nebuchadnezzar. It represents Gentile domination over Jerusalem. In its final stages, it represents the man’s, and more specifically, the ruling elite’s dream of utopia – a world government that stands in defiance of God. All nations will be coerced into relinquishing national sovereignty and submitting to a global government.
